  • Visa-free entry for citizens of most countries (from 30 to 90 days, please check on the website of the Malaysian embassy in your country)
  • For citizens of 34 countries, e-visa applications can be submitted or processed through the embassy

  • Grab taxi app
  • Never agree to a trip with taxi drivers (outside a ride-hailing app) without discussing the fare before departure. This applies to any country
Navigation on-site
Make sure to install the Maps Me app in advance and download the offline map of Malaysia for the specific region you'll be visiting
  • Mobile operators Maxis, U Mobile, Celcom at the airport or the official mobile operator store in the city
  • E-sim (if your phone supports this feature). You can order it through third-party service websites
  • You may not even need a SIM card because there is Wi-Fi available in many places

Currency exchange
